This tablecloth is a colorful celebration of European folk dances and regional costumes. If I had to guess I would say this is of German origin as the only costumes and coats of arms I recognize are German. I do not know if they all are.
Background is an ecru jacquard weave cotton or cotton/rayon blend with golden ochre border with polka dots. Each corner and the center of the cloth is a large bouguet of flowers. Surrounding the centerpiece is a circle of dancers and musicians in period traditional costumes. Some are in lederhosen and dirndls. Every figure is different in the circle. The figures are on an ochre ring. The inner edge of this ring is a silhouette of landscape and mountain villages.
This tablecloth is in perfect vintage condition. i.e. it has been used and laundered but has no damage of any kind. Still bright as the day it was made. It is 46 inches square. Could be used on a round table (up to 30 inches diameter) or square/rectangle.
