Authentic pre-1850s one-piece Plains style moccasins or in Lakhota, hanpa (HAHNH-pah). Full 3/16"-thickness leather, not the thin cheap stuff you are used to! Toes are beaded in faithful reproduction of the US Army Infantry 2nd Division "Indianhead" logo. All hanpa I make are custom-made to fit specific feet, but this pair's owner has not responded for over a year of repeat requests, & they need a home with someone who will appreciate their timeless beauty. To see if they'll fit your (loved one's) feet, stand on a flat hard surface & have someone trace around feet holding the pencil exactly vertical. It is important it not tilt toward or away from the foot as it traces! Then measure the circumference of the ball of the foot (top, sides, bottom). These fit feet that are about 10-1/4" long, 4" wide at the ball, & 10-1/4" ball circumference or US men's size 9-1/2 - 10; US women's size 10-1/2 - 11. They have a thin, super-tough synthetic outsole for longer wear & terrific traction on slick surfaces. My own hanpa are over 10 years old & the outsole is what makes the difference. Modern carpet is often very abrasive! I strongly recommend you wear thin socks, as it is much easier to clean socks than leather, & human skin oils & acids are very hard on leather. All stitching including beadwork done with waxed nylon thread for long life. Sorry - no refunds - make sure they will fit before ordering. These are museum-quality moccasins that will make someone very happy! Maybe, you! Your feet will wonder how they survived. before they wore these moccasins. Help yourself to supreme comfort while helping a Lakhota grandmother; this is o'kichiyapi / helping each other. Thanks for looking!
