Vintage 1930s Art Deco Wear-Ever Copper Glow Sand Urn Ash Stand Designed by Lurelle GuildThis listing is for a hard to find 1930s Art Deco Wear-Ever copper glow sand urn ash stand. Wear Ever catalog number 5761. This ash stand is decorated with two triple raised ring bands. It has three aluminum arms supporting the copper domed center with a cast aluminum finial. It is incised on the bottom "No. 5761 Wear-Ever Made in USA." It measures 10 and 1/2 inches in diameter at the base, 10 and 3/4 inches in diameter at the top and stands 19 inches tall. In 1936 Forbes listed the top 5 American Industrial Designers as Henry Dreyfuss, Norman Bel Geddes, Raymond Loewy, Walter Dorwin Teague and Lurelle Guild. New designs for Wear-Ever Aluminum and the Kensington Ware accounted for a significant part of Guild's yearly output in the 1930s. Wear-Ever and Kensington Ware, both divisions of Alcoa Aluminum, produced housewares.
