This beautiful pre-ban Ivory Netsuke has very distinct cross-hatching which does not show up very well in the photos. Represented here is a pair of rats that seem to be an adult and an immature animal climbing onto the back of the adult. The tiny and beautifully detailed carving is 1-7/8" long and 1-1/8" tall. It is signed. This piece was purchased in Hawaii 50 years ago and was a portion of a collection of netsukes. There is no damage to this netsuke. ... [full description] |
