Besides the most recognized and common copper lustre, there was also a gold lustre and a silver lustre applied to porcelains to imitate the more-expensive actual metal serving pieces. Eventually cabinet pieces also acquired this beautiful applied lustre finish. This piece is gold lustre, and qualifies as a cabinet piece. Measuring 3.25" tall and 3" wide including the handle, this is a lovely example of Victorian cabinet display items. It is only puzzling in that it has some sort of a impressed decoration, only on the front side with the handle to the right, that "feels" to be in the shape of "C" plus more...Not evident from the interior at all...puzzling....NOT DAMAGED.
