This wonderful table runner is made of linen and is hand embroidered in the Appenzell style. It has a deep border of hand made bobbin lace. The length is 50 inches and it is 13 inches wide including the lace. The lace is snowy white, the linen is just slightly ivory, and the embroidery is also ivory but with a warmer pearly tone.
The needlework is first class and the condition is excellent for its age. I have photographed the only problems I can find. One is a broken bride in the lace and the other are very faint stains. The linen is holding up well and while you can tell its seen a lot of laundry days, it has no holes or thinning areas. Really a great piece and one you can pass down to future generations. It is freshly laundered and ironed but you will probably want to improve on my ironing.
One picture shows the reverse side of the embroidery. Make sure you click on all the pics to supersize them. That's the only way the stains show up.
