Taken at twilight almost in complete darkness, the last rays of light in the sky, were later enhanced digitally, making this image into a real firecracker! The rich warm tones from the sky ouze on everything below, the sea, sand and rocky shoreline, the waves lightened up a little added to the magical feel of this fantastic coastal scene.
This is Marsden Bay, South Shields, in the North East of England, where today you will find Marsden Rock, The Grotto (a restaurant and pub built into the caves at the base of the cliffs) and home to one of Britain’s largest seabird breeding colony.
