I have seen this exact belt buckle identified as a 1930s buckle, but we believe this buckle dates to the 1950s. The buckle is a hefty 41.5 grams sterling silver with a gold filled horse head embellishment. The front surface is covered everywhere with gorgeous hand engraving.
The back is signed "Sterling Silver" and "Irvine & Jachens, Inc." Irvine & Jachens began business in 1886 as J.C. Irvine, making silver police stars, badges and tags. In 1926 the San Francisco firm became Irvine & Jachens, and in 1950 moved to Daly City, California. Their product is of a consistently high quality.
The shows the signature and concave circles and star which give the piece so much depth. The buckle measures 3 5/8" wide by 2 1/4" tall.

International buyer’s may inquire about payment methods and mailing costs and should check their country’s import regulations to see if there are any restrictions or duties. I do not mail to countries with a high fraud rate.
