Style: Child's Clutch Bag
Condition: Vintage, Excellent
Materials: Velvet with Rhinestones
This sweet little bag dates from the 1950's when ladies, young and old, never ventured forth without not only their gloves and hats, but also a beautifully elegant handbag. This little velvet purse was carried by a nice young girl who lived in New York with her parents, and enjoyed trips to the Metropolitan Opera with her grandmother. There is a crumpled newspaper page tucked into the bag dated December 1, 1958, which was approximately the last time it was carried.
This lovely clutch bag is asymmetrical in shape with a flapped front closure, has a zipped pocket inside the flap, main compartment zipper, and is adorned with a rhinestone encrusted button with faux pearl accent. Inside, there is a small slide pocket for your mirror, and the main interior compartment is just right for gloves and a bit of change. What an adorable purse!
