I hope that you, or someone you know, might want to own this 100' x 95' (9,500 square feet or 0.22 acre) lot, on Gleason Street in the sleepy little town of Yermo. This is the perfect example of a small-town property in a REALLY small town.
What can you do in Yermo, California? Well, if you get a speeding ticket during a Las Vegas freeway trip, you can try to fight it in the "Yermo Justice Court". (OK, not such a good example.) Well, you could visit the nearby "Yarrow Ravine Rattlesnake Habitat Area". (Hmm, maybe that's not for everyone.) Well, you could visit the tourist attraction called "Calico Ghost Town", good food and "Wild West" cowboy actors "shooting" at each other in the street. (That's more like it.) Add to this stellar list of attractions the occasional spring wild flower, rockhounding for geodes and other rock-related souvenirs, the mangy jackrabbits and one or two skinny coyotes, and who needs to actually find a Gila Monster lizard to enjoy the desert?
Get there via Interstate 15, after you get gas and food in Barstow. About 12 miles farther towards Las Vegas is the little town of Yermo. Exit the freeway, find Yermo Road, and then find Knowles Street. Turn north (well, northwest actually) on Knowles, past Williams, and turn right on Gleason. Watch the house numbers on the right: 474, 466 (the double lot inside the chain link fence), then stop. The house at 450 has been torn down, their lot is 50 feet (20 steps) wide. Pace off 20 steps from the end of the chain link fence at 466, and you are in front of the property. On the other side of the property is 426 Gleason, your double lot ends at the start of their chain link fence.
A small market, the Post Office, and a tavern are about a block away. In the other direction you can walk to Tita's Burger Den. The Zip Code is 92398, and the Thomas Guide is 3592/3682 C1.
Here are the GPS coordinates of roughly the center of the property. Put them into your favorite mapping system and take a look for yourself. Now you can zoom in to count the bunnies, or zoom out to scope the neighborhood.
