Made in Germany in the year 1959. Complete restored included a Cabinet Pro restoration and piano Finish.
The Radio was restored in Jan 2015 and came back to our factory from an antiqiue roadshow in Japan.
We did on this one a very intensive restoration job , also on the cabinet and its piano finish ( take a look to the photos )
The Electronics are also restored ( details are in the restoration Report below)
Automatic is working as it should be , the Freiburg 9 has a top clear and heavy bass sound , additional you see here one of the best designed 50s radio cabinets by Saba. The Freiburg 9 was the last Freiburg model with a half round cabinet design , the following models like Freiburg 100 etc etc had all the typical Nordic Design.
About the Freiburg 9: It is of course a Dual Amp Receiver with 2x EL84 Tubes. The Motortuning gets controlled by the ECL80 Tube and for the Wipe Magnet is the EABC80.
How is the Automatic working ?
Answer: You push one of the 2 buttons in front of the Radio, the motor will start to move the tuning knob like from a ghost hand and stops at the strongest radio station and does also the fine tuning.
The Radio does serve to your ears a huge and heavy sound experience , just with the famous Greencone Alnico speaker and the huge bass front speaker unit.
Thats the German original model version and have FM up to circa 101 mhz .
Short Wave, Middle Wave and Longwave Bands are also working fine. Additional you get here a built in ferrite Antenna for the AM bands for a better reception.
4 Speaker system of Saba Alnico Speaker serve you all what is needed to have a perfect sound. Connection to a mp3 player or turntable etc are also no problem ( you need an additional cable for that , contact us pls after your purchase for details)
Radio works in all voltages 110 up to 240 V, Yes the automatic runs also in 60Hz countries fine.

ABOUT THE RESTORATION:
As you see on the Photos , a Radio Restoration did cost us a lot of time and work. The Cabinet restoration is a real restoration ( we are doing these restoration jobs for our intenrational clients of Art Deco furnitures ) means there is no Tung Oil polished on the cabinet. There is also not one little scratch on the cabinet. As you read above the coloring of the cabinet is done in the original method , this means a sprayed wooden stain which is difficult to mix inside the clear coat which covers the cabinet. The Polish which was done here on the radio cabinet is an appx 10h job. Polish is an easy word, please google for a buffering polish there are serval explains what this is. A buffering polish is the real and only way to give a wooden item a perfect straight finish, even when we restore pianos or old timer parts , we have to go through the long time procedure of a buffering polish. Please compare it not with laquer works of a car tint job, To finish wood to a perfect straight and flat piano finish is much more needed as to finish non organic material like metal ( car etc)
Electronics are restored, tested and radio works fine (view the video link in the listing) in all Bands. The Automatic works als perfect, does fine tuning and works fine in both directions ( see the video link on the top)
