This is a cool pair of pierced earrings featuring the 1973 $.08 Robert Indiana design LOVE stamp. Each earring hangs about 1 1/2" from the gold-tone shepherd's hook earwire. These earrings seem to be the same size as an actual stamp. Each earring looks as if it is made from two back-to-back cancelled stamps. They are coated in or made of a smooth, plastic-like material. The cancellation markings on each are slightly different, indicating they may have been made from authentic stamps. Each double-sided one is then folded, and the side facing out is reversed between the two ears. The dangling pieces are the same but oriented differently to show the opposite end of each stamp. These very interesting, unique earrings capture the fun and colors of the 70's!
