This card is from an original watercolor I did titled "A Lucky Autumn Glass of Merlot in the Vineyard."
Most of my cards come with a small story, written at the time the original artwork is created. This is printed on the backs of the cards, along with the title of the piece and date it was created. They are hand signed "DS Irvin" which is how I sign my original prints and artwork and are hand numbered. This is #4. The story for this artwork reads: "These two stray Nekos are indeed lucky! They have found their way to a friendly vintner's own vineyard who has offered them a fine bottle of estate Merlot to enjoy on a golden cushion in a lovely spot amidst the grapes. He was a wise man, as next year's harvest is sure to succeed. Lucky gold coins are falling in the background to insure a successful growing season."
This open edition ACEO (which stands for Art Cards, Editions & Originals) measures the standard 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" and is laminated. I choose to laminate cards which are prints and don't include any hand enhancing or painting as it makes them far more durable, increasing their longevity, and enriches the colors.
This card was printed with a color laser printer on acid free cover stock. My ACEO cards are in no way mass produced, I print, laminate, and hand cut each one in my studio. The ghosted watermark does not appear on the actual print.
