This original piece of art glass was handmade in the Sunrise Glass Art studio in New York. Glass pieces were fired twice, totalling about 48 hours in the hot kiln. First, pieces were carefully cut and layered in a kiln, then fired to around 1400 degrees F. The glass was annealed in slow cooling process for strength and durability. Second, the flat fused glass was set atop a slumping mold and brought to about 1200 degrees F for an hour. The glass slowly sank into the steel bowl form. Again, the glass was annealed over the course of about 12 hours to produce a durable product.
This bowl is food-safe and dishwasher-safe but we recommend hand-washing. The bowl is about 10" in diameter, 5" deep on one side and 3" deep on the low side.
