This is an antique leather bound HOLY BIBLE from the mid 1800s, with fully gilted edges. It has 40 detailed drawings from noted artists of the day, and 10 maps engraved by mapmaker Thomas Starling. This is a medium sized edition (10" x 6 1/2") of 965 pages that includes both new and old testaments. There are notes and preface by the Rev. John Hobart Caunter, BD. Published by HG Bohn, York Street, Covent Garden, London, 1851. The old binding is a bit damaged on the spine, but the pages are all intact and in very good shape considering the age of the paper. This would make a wonderful addition to an antique book or religious collection.
