TREE OF LIFE
THE CAPITAL OF FARS IS AN ATTRACTIVE CITY OF SOME 130000 people situated in a pleasant valley some 20 miles long, 6 miles across, surrounded by hills with a gap through which a road runs to Salt Lake, Maharlu, and thence to Neriz.
The Visitor who had read of the charms of its gardens of Cypress and oranges where the nightingale defied the dawn, of its wine and wit and laughter and music, traveled a long distance to personally see all this in this wonderful land.
Many visitors went there to see the carpets and rugs skillfully woven by the artisans before 14th Century. The carpets woven by them were a marvel of dexterous craftsmanship, which reflected the brilliance of their crafts. However, travelers did not leave record of the particular tribe/s who used to produce these wonderful carpets. Namdas were also being produced by them during those days. Even to this day, the Villagers around FARS do carry this craft and tradition with them. So, this city has been important to the Merchants since then because it has been the market for carpets and rugs, woven generally by Nomads and the Villagers.
The carpet we are describing was in fact manufactured by one Imam Gul to cover the tomb of the world famous Persian Poet/Philosopher, Sheikh Saadi during the reign of KING SHAH ABBAS. It is said that it took him and his family almost six years to complete it on the loom. However, with the passage of time, this carpet got damaged and was disposed off. It is said that it was on display in Vienna Museum , where it can hardly be seen now. Its copy was available somewhere in Iran and after demonstrating extreme patience we could manage to have it, with great efforts.
Our Master Craftsmen supported by a team produced a marvelous silk carpet, named TREE OF LIFE. It took them two years to complete it.
And now, the carpet produced on the loom by a skilled weaver, Ghulam Nabi Shah within 18 MONTHS and is the faithful production of the above carpet, which has gone in your proud possession. It will bring fortune, peace and prosperity to you and all your family in the coming years as it is regarded as a good omen for its Possessor.
With careful wear and tear and proper maintenance, it will go to the future generations as an ASSET.
