Imagine what it would have been like to sail the Sea of Galilee with Jesus and his disciples! People often came to hear Jesus teach by the Sea of Galilee.
Be fishers of men! (Luke 5 & 6, Matthew 4, Mark 1)
Two brothers, Peter and Andrew had fished all night and not caught one fish. Jesus told them where to put their nets and there were so many fish the nets began to break! They yelled for their friends James and John to help, but soon both boats were so full of fish they began to sink! Peter then knew Jesus was from God. "Don't be afraid" Jesus said, "follow me. From now on you will be fishers of men, not fish."
Winds & Waves Obey (Matthew 8, Mark 4, and Luke 8)
After a long day of teaching from a boat on a lake Jesus and his disciples were crossing the lake. As Jesus slept in the back of the boat a wild storm began. The disciples were very afraid and cried out to Jesus, "Teacher, Teacher, save us! Don't you see we are going to drown?"
Jesus got up and turned to the roaring wind and waves. "Quiet!" he said. "Be still!"
The wind went away and the waves were still.
The disciples were amazed by this man that even the wind and waves obeyed!
