Lot of 2 Vintage LE CLIP Swiss Quartz Watches Gray with Pink White Design 1980s in Original Cases and Boxes
> Lot of two funky Le Clip Swiss Quartz watches from the 1980s, with two different designs
> Both watches were bought together in Geneva, and they come with the original operating instructions for one of the watches
> The operating instructions have a date of sale entered as 8.11.86 and a vendor stamp: J Grand Passage S.A. Geneve, Bayon Horlogerie
> Le Clip watches have Swiss quartz movements, are shock-resistant, water-resistant and equipped with a mineral crystal
> Le Clip watches do not have watchbands; they were designed to clip onto clothing or to be worn on a chain
> Per the instructions, the watches take a 1.5v watch battery, which is to be replaced by qualified personnel
> Each measures 1-7/8 high x 1-1/8 inches wide, and the round watch faces are about 1 inch in diameter
> Clips and watchcases are made of plastic
> Clip fronts and watch dials are colorfully decorated
>> One has a pink, black and white mesh design, with white hands
>> The other has a pink slanted stripe design with a pink and a gray hand
> The round watches themselves can be removed from the clip components by turning the watch faces so that the stems are aligned with a corner of the clip, a "twist to lock" feature that is diagrammed in the instructions
> Watches have a slide in plastic "lock" piece with a hole to thread a chain through
> Remove the "lock" piece, and the watch can be clipped like a small clothespin to a garment lapel or cuff
CONDITION: There are no cracks or breaks in the crystal, face or hands of either watch. The stems are fine, and can be pulled out to set the watches. There are no chips or cracks or scratches in the plastic clip components of either watch. Watches come in the original packaging, which has been opened.
IMPORTANT: These watches are being sold as is, and we do not know if the watches run or not. The original batteries from the 1980s have expired, and, as noted, we have not attempted to open the watches to check or change the batteries. We see no easy way of opening the watchcases to check or replace the batteries, and we have not attempted to do so. If battery replacement is desired, the buyer would need to have a jeweler or similar open the crystals to replace the batteries. Please check with your jeweler or similar to confirm that they are able to do this before making your purchase.
