This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. Kenny Rogers was crossing pop and country when the likes of Shania Twain and Garth Brooks were still in short pants, and his experience in that area adds up to a great decree of skill at turning out country music with an appeal beyond the usual country audience. A crossover artist in the truest sense, Rogers isn't just combining styles on THERE YOU AGAIN, he's fusing them into a new paradigm that can only be described as Kenny Rogers music. How else can one reconcile earthy vocals, homespun melodies, and pedal steel guitars rubbing shoulders with Richard Marx (co-writer on a couple of tunes here) and a pure '70s AM pop sensibility? Several high-profile country artists make guest appearances here, including Billy Dean, Brad Paisley, and Suzy Bogguss, but in every case, their presence is secondary to both the singer (Rogers, that is) and the song. Factory sealed cut-out.
