This pin or brooch is a figural depiction of a gold dessert plate with strawberries atop a puddle of cream or melted ice cream. A spoon spans across the top of the dish. (I call these strawberries because they have stems but they lack any indication of the seeds so they may be intended as cherries.)
The plate is gold tone metal, the cream is a resin of some sort and the berries are hard shiny plastic. The spoon is either silver tone metal or stainless steel. The pin has a safety clasp on the back and is in excellent condition. Some minor scratches on the back but the front is fine.
The pin is marked Tokens of Gilt on the back.
It is 2.5 inches in diameter.
Tokens of Gilt is a jewelry company owned by Mimi Shulman, artist and designer known primarily for her creation of jewelry and small cast props for the entertainment industry. Her work with film and TV productions brought her to the attention of celebrities who commissioned her to make pieces for their personal use. She evidently did several props for Warehouse 13, a TV series that recently ended.
Shulman is also noted for her passion to make hearing aids into fashion accessories as eye glasses are. Mimi wore behind the ear hearing aids from early childhood. Her hearing aids are more like earrings than medical devices. Google them. They are fun and turn a disability into a trendy fashion statement.
Pieces by Shulman are more works of art than jewelry. Some are fun, others have themes and some are rather outlandishly over the top.
