The shrub grows 10-12 Feet tall and 6-8 Feet wide, and has clusters of 2-3" inches dusty red tubular flowers at the tips of the stems, which fade to a bright red as they age – very pretty. Blooming thorough the warm season, it is an unbelievable draw for the hummingbirds!
Likes part shade to full sun in moist fertile well-mulched soils. Protect from hot afternoon sun and drying winds. In Zone 8 this plant is generally reliable as a herbaceous perennial. Can withstand light frosts only. This tropical perennial does excellent in a container.
