This beautiful pattern is called "The Bruges Madonna." This pattern is adapted into counted cross stitch from an image given to the public domain. It was sculpted by Michelangelo and was one of the treasures of art found by a special group U.S. Soldiers who were sent to find all the artworks that Hitler had stolen during WWII. This was one of the pieces found. It now can be found in the Church of Our Lady, Bruges, Belgium.
