Contents: This series was published quarterly and was dedicated "...to the memory of the golden era of transatlantic travel. This period of maritime history started with the sailing of the first Cunard paddle steamer Britannia to Boston on July 4th, 1840 and ended with the entering of service of the first thousand foot liners Normandie and Queen Mary in the 1930's.
Each of these publications were dedicated to a single subject. This particular volume deals with transatlantic travel in the opening years of the paddle steamers. Illustrated with photographs and drawings.
