Bayer Seresto / Foresto - Flea & tick collar for small dogs and cats under 18 lbs (8kg).
This collar from Bayer offers a breakthrough of 7-8 months of flea and tick protection for dogs and cats, setting it apart from conventional flea and tick collars.
Foresto collar is designed in such a way as to safely remain in place for up to 8 months, without endangering the life of the animal. This is a unique product on the market, it contains a powerful insecticide - imidacloprid and highly effective acaricide - flumethrin.
These compounds are incorporated into a polymer matrix used in the construction of the innovative collar waterproof and odorless, so that the active ingredients are all the time - for up to 8 months - released in a suitable low but effective dosage.
The Seresto/Foresto collar is also water resistant and remains effective following monthly bathing, occasional swimming (if swimming occurs more often than once a month, the duration is reduced to five months) or after exposure to rain or sunshine.
This collar also features a release mechanism which in the unlikely event of a pet becoming trapped, the pet's own strength is sufficient to allow for a quick release.
Side effects of Flumethrin and Propoxur from the collar are uncommon.
The side effects may occur due to accidental ingestion of the collar, use with other organophosphate based products or unexpected sensitivity. Signs may include vomiting, diarrhoea, salivation, lethargy and neurologic signs (weakness, paralysis).
If your pet shows any of these signs or other abnormal behaviour or unusual signs, remove the collar and contact your veterinarian immediately.
Instruction for external use only
Remove collar from protective bag directly before use
Unroll collar and make sure that there are no remnants from the plastic connectors inside the collar.
Adjust the collar around the animal’s neck without tightening it too tight (as a guide, it should be possible to insert 2 fingers between the collar and the neck).
Pull excess collar through the loop and cut off any excess length extending beyond 2 cm.
The collar should be worn continuously for the 8 month protection period and should be removed after the treatment period.
Check periodically and adjust fit if necessary, especially when puppies and kittens are rapidly growing. For the treatment of dogs over 7 weeks of age.
