Rare Corby Tiemaster Tie Press.
1950s Metal Manual Press, Made in England.
Made by John Corby Ltd., of Windsor, this is the classic vintage tie press.
The Tiemaster is made bronze/ brown colored metal with black bakelite handles. The press features a fabric belt which is wound with the tie enclosed and presses the tie. The fabric is wound via the cog turn handle on the side, and once wound is released via the spring loaded knob on the top.
It is fully marked and named, on both the front and the base.
The press has obvious signs of wear and age. It is solid and working, both the turn handle, release knob and fabric belt work well. The metal has some scuffing and damage to the finish, and there is wear around the turn handle. The fabric belt has a tear at the start of the belt of approx. 8" but is fine after that, leaving plenty of fabric to press a tie!!
The press measures 6" (15cm) high, 8" (20cm) across and 6.25" (16cm) deep.
A great gift for the sharp dresser, or perfect for a man cave!
