Also known as aconite, monkshood, wolf's bane, leopard's bane, mousebane, women's bane, devil's helmet, Queen of all Poisons, or blue rocket, Aconitum is native to central Europe and an excellent long blooming perennial with long, spring flowering spikes of blue, hood-shaped flowers.
Beautiful and long lived, this stately border plant is especially suited to partly shaded areas. Absolutely stunning.

Hardy to minus -40°F, long lived and maintenance free, they are choice mid to late season vertical accent plants. The flower spikes grow to around 48"in tall. The stiff stems are self-supporting with handsome leathery green foliage. Bees love them.
Plant prefers part to full shade and evenly moist soils. Zone 2-9.
