This flow blue semi-porcelain round vegetable bowl is in the “Osborne” pattern. It was made in Staffordshire, England about 1895. The lovely floral pattern consists of groups of floral swags and sprays. It is a beautiful dark shade of blue. The scalloped rim is embossed with leafy scrolls and has a gold rim. About 50% of the gold is left. A nice aspect of the design is that it's repeated as three floral sprays on the outside of the bowl.
The backstamp on this piece does not include the maker. It only has a stamped "England" and an impressed "05". This pattern was produced by Ridgways, Grindley, and possibly others. Size: 8 1/2 in. (21.6 cm) diameter x 2 3/8 in. (6.1 cm) deep. This bowl has no chips, cracks, hairlines, or repairs. On the inside of the bowl is a 2 mm light brown spot, which can be seen at between 7 and 8 o'clock in photo #3. For it's age, this piece is in very good condition! (#57002-DR+)
