This is a Vintage Hand-Crafted Egg Shaped Mexican Folk Art Huichol Beaded Christmas Ornament!
On an egg shaped form a layer of beeswax is applied and then decorated using glass seed beads in native Huichol Indian designs. This art form is practiced in a very limited area of Mexico, by the Huichol Indians of Jalisco, and the Cora Indians in Nayarit. To these natives, their art is considered sacred and their designs relate to their religious symbols that are nature based. The colors and designs are amazing, truly a treasure to enjoy for many years. The egg is about 2 3/4" tall and has a narrow metallic gold cord) attached for hanging on your Christmas tree or other display. You could also clip the cord off and display on an egg stand or in a bowl purely for a great decorative centerpiece.
