RF (Radio Frequency) transmitters such as bug and camera transmitters put out a signal at a certain frequency. Wireless camera usually use 1.2 GHZ 2.4 GHZ or 5.8 GHZ . A 1.2 GHZ camera or bug is equal to 1200 MHZ .


Our bug and wireless camera detector searches the band for a signal between 1 MHZ and 6000 MHZ. (6 GHZ) Using a bug detector will not tell you exactly where the bug is it will allow you to scan for wireless signals and get within close proximity of the device ( about 2 feet). You will need to disable all the wireless devices that you are aware of in order to do an effective bug sweep. Internet wireless routers, cordless phones, baby monitors, two way radios VHF/ FRS radios and a few others can cause a false signal. If you disable every wireless device you are aware of you can easily search a room or office in no time because you will not need to identify false signals.
