Discovered by Soul Producer GEORGE KERR, this 1973 release by THE ESCORTS was recorded at the Rahway State Prison in New Jersey by George Kerr. All members of this band, The Escorts, were incarcerated at this prison when Kerr recorded this album from inside the prison. This has a weird tapestry of sound that interweaves great harmony soul numbers with some other bits that get at the grittier aspects of their life. The overall sound is right in the mode of Kerr's best productions -- and sounds a fair bit like NJ soul of the Whatnauts/Moments era. This is the first of 2 albums recorded by The Escorts, and a very hard to find Original 1973 vinyl pressing on Alithia Records.
COVER: G (GOOD): Significant use and wear. Covers in this condition have lots of visual flaws or have never been properly cared for. Possible improper storage, tears, bends, etc. Unless it is a very rare item, we tend to not list many items in this condition. (This cover has moisture damage on the bottom part)
VINYL: VG - (VERY GOOD MINUS): More significant visual wear, use and deeper scratching that causes surface noise and pops, but no skipping or repeating.

All LPs come packaged carefully in a sturdy corrugated box made specifically for mailing LPs plus a cardboard insert. The covers are placed in clear plastic record sleeves. The vinyl is removed from the cover (except for SEALED items) for shipping to prevent seam splitting during shipment.
