These lovely old Austrian pieces are delightful and depict a Kate Greenway style little boy and girl standing next to a tree. These figures are very shiny with a high glaze and have rich, bright colors. My camera couldn't pick up the beauty of the colors and do these pieces no justice. They are approximately 11" tall x 5" wide x 3" thick and are much bigger in person than the photos show. They are in very good condition with the exception of two small chips on the piece with the little boy (one on the back corner of the base and one on one on an edge of a leaf as shown in photos). One is marked with what appears to be the impressed numbers 8822 or 6622, & the number 33, and the other looks like impressed numbers 6625 or 8825 an an impressed number 51. They are made out of some kind or ceramic or porcelain/pottery.BROTHERS URBACH, Turn-Teplitz (1882-1906)Alfred Urbach along with his younger brother, established a ceramics and pottery factory at Turn-Teplitz in 1882 and continued to produce mainly majolica goods until 1906 when the factory was taken over Triptis AG. Although the brothers produced vases (that today fetch vast amounts) and other items, they are best known for figural items including figurines, smokers, tobacco jars and candle sticks. The quality of this factory's production is considered of a high standard and the factory was only in production for 24 years. Their pieces are becoming very sort after.
