A groundbreaking symphonic and film composer (and long the favorite of Director Alfred Hitchcock for his complex and evocative music), BERNARD HERRMAN created memorable scores for many Hollywood films, including Citizen Kane , Psycho (both versions), Taxi Driver , The Devil and Daniel Webster , The Magnificent Ambersons , Jane Eyre (1944), The Day the Earth Stood Still , The Ghost and Mrs. Muir , The Snows of Kilimanjaro , The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad , The Naked and the Dead , The Man in the Grey Flannel Suit , Cape Fear (both versions), Jason and the Argonauts , Journey to the Center of the Earth , Vertigo , Marnie , North by Northwest , Tender Is The Night , Mysterious Island , Sisters , It's Alive , Obsession and many more.
He also served as sound consultant for Hitchcock's The Birds (which had no musical score), providing musical arrangement for the computer-generated bird sounds and effects!
