Charge your cell phone, PDA or other small portable electronic device simultaneously with the N-Charge Battery Power System.

This is the Valence N-Charge Model 130HL01 Power System's battery. It is 11.8 inches wide, 9.1 inches deep, 0.5 inches thick and weighs 2.97 pounds. It sits under your notebook. Simply connect it to your machine's AC jack (check the site for notebook compatibility).  You can also connect a compatible cell phone or PDA to the N-Charge's extra socket. Extra phone adapter cable can be bought separate.
The device simulates an AC power plug, so your notebook will run at full power settings. On our BatteryMark test, the N-Charge delivered 6 hours 7 minutes when powering the desktop replacement–class IBM A31p. Using an IBM T20 for real-world testing (playing a DVD, then word processing while listening to MP3s), we got roughly 5 hours of life. For even more runtime, the VNC-130 adds a pound to the weight and ups battery life to about 10 hours.
At 1.8 pounds, the N-Charge is not too heavy to tote along for a trip, but it could use some ergonomic improvement. There isn't much grip for your laptop when it sits on top, and the power connector easily knocks loose. But these are small nits with an otherwise powerful product.
