This small rush borders curiosity, but will do very well as a low groundcover to accent other leaved shade plants. Also perfect for clay pots which double as house plants in the winter. Juncus is an evergreen and forms from irregular clumps. The foliage is round, hollow and twisted; deep green in color. The foliage can be 4-8 inches in length. Flowers in the summer with yellowish flowers and are sparse emerging from the side of the foliage.

Our juncus are grown in 1" plugs the PERFECT size for planting in a border, flower bed, water feature,shallow pond or in a pot. Recommended spacing is 6-12 inches apart. Moderate growth rate. Juncus likes full sun to part shade. Juncus likes moist to wet soil. In hot climates you will want to protect it with shallow water. This plant is hardy to -30 degrees (USDA Zone 4 -8) once established.
