A pair of screwback earrings made by Amita Japan using the Damascene technique of pounding 24K gold into blackened steel. I believe these earrings also have some silver applied. The design is of bamboo shoots. This is a mid century Amita design.

The earrings are absolutely flat and measure 7/8 inch in diameter and have well functioning screwbacks. They are marked AMITA Japan on the back.Condition is excellent. The screws either were never gold plated or have lost it. They look rather coppery now.
