Sterling Silver Scandinavian Traditional Ukonvasara Thor's Hammer
As Christianity started converting people and those people took up the cross, the heathen Viking adopted the hammer, the tool the popular God Thor used to strike lightning. It was used as an ornament during the last century before Christianity was generally accepted in Scandinavia. Although the Norwegians would call this a Thor's Hammer it is also thought to belong to the Finnish God Ukko. He is also the God of thunder and lightening.
