ART + GRAFT Gallery Editions are pleased to announce the release of a brand new limited edition of Dominic Rouse's haunting 2001 image 'Dance for no-one' described by the artist as a 'homage to those in pursuit of perfection". The edition is limited to 250 individually signed and numbered prints.

PRINT CONDITION
A 15" x 12" digital 'C-type' print on Fuji's beautiful Crystal Archive paper. The image is 13" x 9" allowing for a 1" white border on the top and sides of the image area and 2" underneath.
This print is newly made to the artist's exacting specifications and is in mint condition. It is signed and numbered in the lower right hand corner of the print in black ink. The title and copyright details are noted in the lower left corner of the print.
An embossed Certificate of Print Authenticity is included. (Please note that the edition number of the print you receive will not necessarily correspond to the number of the print that appears in the listing photographs.)
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Dominic Rouse has been described as one of the most interesting photographers working today. He is a visionary in the truest sense of the word and his work probably has more in common with painting than photography. Brooks Jensen, the editor of America's LensWork Magazine, has said that Rouse does not take pictures of the world, he makes photographs of his mind. His unique vision and mastery of his craft set him apart from most of the other photographers who use the computer in their practice. His work may appear to be rooted in the past but it is the product of a seamless blend of the latest digital technologies and the timeless qualities of large format photography.

In his introduction to the work of Dominic Rouse, Brooks Jensen, the editor of LensWork Publishing in USA considers the artist in an historical context alongside artists Hieronymus Bosch, Pieter Breughel, Rene Magritte and Ansel Adams. He is not alone in considering this artist important. Stephen Perloff, editor of The Photo Review, relates his work with that of German master Albrecht Dürer and an international review of a recent exhibition of his work places him in the company of Diane Arbus, Weege and Brassai.
In July of2012 his work was included in the New York exhibit 'Visionaries' alongside such luminaries as Professor Ernst Fuchs and Oscar Winner (Alien, 1980) H. R. Giger. He was the only photographer invited to show his work with these internationally recognised artists of imagination.
Issue #96 (Dec 2012) of America's Black & White Magazine has an interview with the artist and extensive folio of his images including 'Once a catholic' which appears on the cover. Next year the prestigious German fine art publishers Galerie Vevais will release an exclusive limited edition folio of Rouse's photographs presented in handcrafted designer 'shrines' sculpted specifically to showcase this unique artist's work. Other Galerais Vevais artists include Jock Sturges, Arthur Tress, William Ropp, Paul Cava and Youichi Shidomoto.
In May 2013 Rouse's work will hang in a museum exhibition commissioned to celebrate Jerry Uelsmann's fifty years in photography curated by noted photography historian Stephen Perloff and in October the artist will travel to Poland for a major exhibition of his work at the Foto Art Biennial in Bielsko-Biala.
