Exquisite hand embroidered Appenzell linen hanky S monogram rolled hem ll1340

I have to assume this hanky is antique. It is hand embroidered and I can't imagine anyone doing this kind of ultra fine embroidery today. I'm quite sure this hanky has never been used. It is utter perfection.

The hanky is all fine linen and absolutely plain except for one corner which has a feminine S monogram nestled in a spray of finely embroidered flowers. Touches of Appenzell work add interest to the S and 1 flower. As if the embroidery is not wonderful enough, the hem is all hand rolled and sewn. It is 11.5 inches square. A wonderful gift for a bride or just a great friend even if the friend is you.
