Gold tone two shades of blue and orange enameled scarab ring, signed "Trifari." c. 1970s. Size 5This line was produced by Trifari during the King Tut tour in the 70s.
Various pieces of this set are in a number of different books (I don't own any of them so I'm not sure if this ring is included in any of the books). The matching scarab necklace is shown in Julia Carroll's Collecting Costume Jewelry 303 on page 300 and the cobra bracelet is included in Costume Jewelry 202 on page 279. While I've seen various necklaces, earrings and bracelets from this collection, which are also rare, I have never seen a ring before. Since rings get the most wear of any jewelry (because they are more likely to get dings, etc, it is super rare to find one with enamel in such good condition.
