On Sale! Here's a rare black, VERY lightly pre-worn soft, lighter weight T-Shirt from Japan that has 9 difference faces/expressions of Kabuki actors on the front of the T-Shirt.

The T-Shirt measures 22 inches across the chest measured under the arms and from the back of the neck band to the bottom hem is 30 inches. Neck tag only says TOMBOY and there is still a size sticker stuck to the inside of the T-Shirt ( LL) but with these measurements this is a standard size LARGE. There is a tag sewn into the inside seam at the bottom hem of the T-Shirt that is in Japanese—believe that it is 100% cotton. This is a wonderful soft, thinner knit that doesn’t look like it has been worn. The graphics are silk screened onto the shirt and the colors are red, pink, turquoise and gold with the Japanese word for the expression of the Kabuki face next to it so you know what it means.

Kabuki (歌舞伎 kabuki?) is a classical Japanese dance-drama. Kabuki theatre is known for the stylization of its drama and for the elaborate make-up worn by some of its performers.

The individual kanji characters, from left to right, mean sing (歌), dance (舞), and skill (伎). Kabuki is therefore sometimes translated as "the art of singing and dancing". These are, however, ateji characters which do not reflect actual etymology. The kanji of 'skill' generally refers to a performer in kabuki theatre. Since the word kabuki is believed to derive from the verb kabuku, meaning "to lean" or "to be out of the ordinary", kabuki can be interpreted as "avant-garde" or "bizarre" theatre. The expression kabukimono (歌舞伎者) referred originally to those who were bizarrely dressed and swaggered on a street.
