This is an exact copy of the original manual, reproduced faithfully to the
original 8 1/2" X 11" size. The original 1972 service manual was a glued edge or
"perfect" binding which tends to separate over time. After this first year of
publication the binding was change to a cerlox spiral binding which lies flat
and stays together. We have chosen to use a cerlox binding for our copy to match
all our other Airstream reprints.
It covers in great detail the chassis, shell, interior, water and sewage system,
gas and electrical, heating, air conditioning, appliances, and cabinet work.
Whether one simply wishes to know their Airstream better than the regular owners
manual allows or one is doing a complete rebuild and restoration this factory
service manual is invaluable.
The manual covers all Airstreams produced for 1972. It is also a very valuable
aid for Airstreams of other years that are close in date to 1972 as some systems
and design layout remained the same for years. 1972 was the first year for
Airstream Service manuals. Before this Airstream buyers had to make do with a
much smaller owners manual which had an emphasis on setup and trailering rather
than repair. This manual would be quite useful for previous years such as
1969-1971. I know as I own a 1970 Overlander which is served well by either the
72 or 73 service manual.(Please check our auctions for other years and also the
smaller owners manuals)

illustrated with detailed pictures and diagrams such as the one reduced below.

IMPORTANT: please note that if you own an Argosy trailer that it was not a full "Airstream" but rather a stripped down economy camper that had different appliances, layouts and building details. No service manuals were produced for Argosy trailers. An Airstream service manual is usefull to an Argosy owner ownly in a very general way as many specifics of an Argosy differ from full Airstream campers. Please ask questions before buying if you have an Argosy.
