NEW * VINTAGE * 1960’s * HAND MADE INDIAN SHAWL * DEEP BLUE * HAND EMBROIDERED * GEOMETRIC DESIGN WITH SUN MOTIFS * SMALL MIRRORS EMBROIDERED WITH WHITE WOOL THREAD AND SUN RAYS *

My parents have always loved to travel. They
didn't buy their first house until they were in their 70's, preferring to spend their money to see other countries!!
Their friends were great travelers too. This hand made shawl case came one our family friend's two year stay in India from 1964 – 1966.
This shawl has been in storage for over fifty years. It is literally brand new, never having been used or seen daylight.
FEATURES:
. Hand made, dyed and loomed cotton
. Hand embroidered designs with sun motifs, using small round mirrors embroidered with white wool thread and sun rays
. Please see pics of the back of the shawl for exquisite hand detailed work
. Thick tufts of wool fringe
. Measures 68” long x 22.5” wide, plus 1” of tufted fringe on either end
Note: Since I took the pics, I more closely inspected the mirrors. They had a haze on them. I took a Q tip dipped in water and cleaned all of them! They now jump off the shawl even more!!.
