FARNAM - 1974 Universal Postal Union (#1530-7) FDCs (Set of 8) - UA
Here's a nice set of 8 First Day Covers bearing individual copies of the 1974 UPU 10¢ stamps (Sc. #1530-7). The stamp designs are based on paintings related to letter writing by the artists Goya, Liotard, Peto, Gainsborough, Hokusai, Terborch, Chardin, and Raphael. Four of the stamps bear a quote from Donne, "Letters mingle souls".
Postmarked: MC - WASHINGTON, DC - June 6, 1974
Cachet: Each cover has an identical red and gold House of Farnam design with an Old English style text that reads: "Writing and reading letters. Universal Postal Union 18-1974. First day cover."
Condition: Neat, clean, and unaddressed.
