Hello. I spent nearly 10 years selling on that other site (you can check my feedback there; It's under the same ID as this one; over 3200 positives, 99.7%). But I thought I'd give this new site a try.
I'm just getting started here, so please excuse the amateur appearance. I'll have the place looking better shortly.

Recorded at RPM, New York, New York in December 1997.
This three-girl/one-boy New York garage-pop band mixes the sound of tough late '70s New Wavers like early Blondie, Holly and the Italians, and the Pretenders with that of the Ronettes/Shangri-Las-style '60s girl groups. Richard Gottehrer, who started in the same Brill Building milieu of the early '60s that spawned the original girl group scene and produced Blondie, Holly and the Italians, and the Go-Gos, was the perfect choice for a producer.
Lori Yorkman has a great bratty voice, and The Prissteens work up a good pop-punk head of steam similar to the first Undertones album. Gottehrer's production is a touch too slick in spots, and unfortunately, the cover of Wreckless Eric's classic "Whole Wide World" is something of a botch. But the strengths of SCANDAL, CONTROVERSY AND ROMANCE more than outweigh the album's few weaknesses.
