Wedgwood Blue Jasperware Mug Stein Oversized Numbered Marked Retired
This is a beautiful example of fine old Wedgwood Jasperware, which was a type of bisque/porcelain developed by Josiah Wedgwood. It is a lovely, large mug with the usual white Greek mythological scenarios and decorative wreaths. Each "applique" was individually applied to the mug with the usual Wedgwood care and craftsmanship of its artisans. This mug was a limited edition, produced for the Wedgwood Collectors' Society in 1985. It is in excellent condition and has all the usual markings on the underside. It has been on display so could use a gentle washing to bring out the vivid white and blue colors. The mug measures 4 1/2" tall and has a huge 3 1/2" diameter--just perfect for hot drinks or even soup during the cold winter. Yes, you can actually use it! Don't miss out on this very beautiful Wedgwood collectible! It is no longer in production.
