He taught academic subjects and music, Violin, and Piano in St. Paul's School in Darjeeling (4 years) and Calcutta Boys' School (18 years).He was associated with the Oxford Mission Behala in Kolkata for over 50 years. The philanthropic, godly and humanitarian works of the doyen of the Mission impressed him beyond measure. They shaped his life in the process of looking after him in the early days of his life and youth. Jogen Khan is an accomplished musician. He plays Piano, Church Organ, Violin and Bassoon with aplomb. In Kolkata in the days of yore, he conducted Calcutta Symphony Orchestra (now defunct), Calcutta Choral Group, Calcutta Chamber Orchestra, Gorky Sadan Youth Orchestra, and in Darjeeling he helped Father McGuire to form the Gandhi Youth Orchestra in its initial stage. In 1994, he settled down in Delhi and has been teaching Music to the children of the foreign diplomats and budding young musicians of Delhi. Recently he founded Brotherhood School of Music in north Delhi, where enthusiastic pupils, young and old alike joined into the learning of western instruments under his tutelage.He took up writing in English recently. The art of scripting and story-telling have been well employed in the work titled, 'The Petals'. There are five more literary works in the offing.
