Prior to joining the Department she worked as Associate Professor under various colleges of the SreeNarayana Trusts, affiliated to the University of Kerala. She took her M.A, M.Phil and Ph.D in Political Science from the Department of Political Science, University of Kerala, Kariavattom and is having more than twenty years of teaching and research experience. She has presented a number of papers in national and international seminars and published articles in various national and international journals and edited volumes.
