This pattern of Gen. Ulysess S. Grant's Home, Galena, IL - 1865 was designed for counted cross stitch as a patriotic pattern to commemorate and recall our United States history.
Post-war, Grant, promoted to full general in 1866, oversaw the military aspects of Southern Reconstruction. He was gone most of the time from his home during reconstruction.
He became President of the United States in 1868.
General Grant's home is located at 500 Bouthillier St., Galena, IL
The pattern would be great stitched for yourself or for someone in your family that was a veteran of the Civil War. You will have a very unique counted cross stitch pattern.
