HUNT'S Canned Goods (Tomato Sauce/Peaches) - 1960s(?) Matchbook Cover w/ Recipe
Description: Here's a standard-sized matchbook cover advertising Hunt's Tomato Sauce and Hunt's Peaches. One side shows a can of peaches with wings and the slogan "Serve 'em Plain! Serve 'em Fancy". The other side shows a can of tomato sauce and indicates that there's a recipe for Lamb & Rice inside. Perversely, it shows the smiling face of a lamb looking at the tomato sauce can.
The recipe for Lamb and Rice inside the cover uses 2 cans of Hunt's Tomato Sauce and invites the reader to "Tear Off and Save".

Actual Size: approx. 2" x 1.5" (closed)
Date: Not dated, but looks to me to be from the 1960s, or perhaps earlier.
Condition: Just good, I'd say. The cover is just a bit soiled and the striker strip seems to show little actual use. However, the striker strip does have some damage, likely from the removal and replacement of the staple when the matches and stubs were removed. There's also an extra set of staple holes which goes through the striker strip and both sides of the cover. (Please see scans.)
