Description

Gypsies migrated from the Middle East fleeing the Ottoman Turks and settled largely in southeast Europe. They were mistrusted and isolated so their cultures and blood lines were largely self contained. Their costumes including jewelry are very distinctive and identifiable. This is a Gypsy woman’s finger ring dating to about 1800-50.
